Saint Thomas West Hospital, a member of Ascension Saint Thomas, and Nephrology Associates, Middle Tennessee's largest provider of renal care, have announced an exclusive partnership to expand kidney transplant care. Affecting more than 37 million people nationwide, chronic kidney disease is the ninth leading cause of death in the U.S., according to the National Kidney Foundation. The new integrated partnership looks to improve access to quality care and expand the kidney transplant program at Saint Thomas West. Transplant-trained nephrologists will also amplify coverage at the hospital through a practice affiliation with Saint Thomas Medical Partners and Nephrology Associates. Additionally, the agreement will expedite the transplant wait list process and allow for the joint branding of certain existing Nephrology Associates locations.

William F. (Bill) Carpenter III, former chairman of the board and CEO of Nashville-based LifePoint Health, has been appointed to the board of directors of FB Financial Corporation, the holding company of FirstBank. Carpenter's addition represents an expansion of the board, which will now have 10 members.

Boston-based MLL Capital has acquired the Anderson Building, a 60,540-square-foot medical office property on White Bridge Road. According to information provided by MLL Capital, the commercial real estate investors plans "a significant capital improvement program to rebrand and transform the asset into a premier multi-tenant medical property." Improvements will include new building and sight signage and updated common areas. MLL Capital has pledged to spend more than $3 million to transform the property. Holladay Properties has been named leasing agent and property manager.

Healthcare-focused private equity investment firm Cressey & Company has expanded its presence in Nashville by opening a new office on Bedford Avenue in Green Hills. Officials said the move signifies its commitment to the large and growing healthcare ecosystem in and around the city.

Urgent Team has opened a new walk-in urgent care center in Hermitage. The onsite healthcare team is being led by nurse practitioners Jane Colson and Joshua Dragan. Colson earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Tennessee State University and has more than 20 years of nursing experience. Dragan earned his Master of Science in Nursing from Union University and has seven years of experience in a variety of settings including urgent walk-in care, primary care and emergency departments.
