Community Health Systems recently announced completion of sale of their ownership interest in Stringfellow Memorial Hospital and associated assets to The Health Care Authority of the City of Anniston, Ala. The company also completed the sale of their ownership interest in eight hospitals, primarily in Florida and Pennsylvania, to subsidiaries of Steward Health Care LLC and of two hospitals in Mississippi to Curae Health, Inc. After the divestitures, CHS continues to operate six hospitals in Alabama, 21 in Florida and 15 in Pennsylvania, and 10 in Mississippi. CHS has also announced a definitive agreement to sell two Texas hospitals and their associated assets to HCA.

HCA has also announced an agreement to acquire three Houston hospitals from Tenet Healthcare.

Nashville-based Council Capital has invested in Triad Learning Systems, a healthcare executive training company based in Idaho.

Nashville-based Surgery Partners has announced a definitive agreement to acquire National Surgical Healthcare from Irving Place Capital for approximately $760 million. Funding for the acquisition will be provided in part by Bain Capital Private Equity.

Last month, Envision Physician Services announced acquisition of Gwinnett Emergency Specialists, PC, an emergency medicine physician group practice located in Lawrenceville, Georgia with more than 40 physicians and 30 advanced practice practitioners who provide patient care at two hospitals in Gwinnett County.
