Tennessee Hospital Association and Enroll America Partner to

Support Marketplace Enrollment in State’s Hospitals, Communities

The Tennessee Hospital Association (THA) has publicly announced its partnership with Enroll America, a national organization providing enrollment support for insurance coverage through the federal insurance marketplace, and its Get Covered America campaign in Tennessee.

This marks the second year THA has collaborated with Enroll America to support enrollment efforts in Tennessee’s hospitals and communities.

“Having health insurance is essential to living a healthy life and THA fully supports any effort that brings coverage to the state’s uninsured,” said Craig A. Becker, president and CEO of THA. “The Affordable Care Act has brought health coverage to tens of thousands of Tennesseans and many of our state’s uninsured still qualify for coverage. Enroll America’s work across Tennessee helps identify those who are eligible for coverage and supports these individuals through the enrollment process.”

With the Nov.15 start date of the open enrollment period for coverage through the federal marketplace approaching, Tennessee’s hospitals once again will work with patients and the wider community to increase awareness of coverage options and encourage enrollment. This work is supported largely through Enroll America’s field staff, partners and volunteers across the state.

“Enroll America and its Get Covered America campaign in Tennessee are excited to continue its partnership with the Tennessee Hospital Association,” said Jacob Flowers, Tennessee State Director of Enroll America. “Together, we can reach more uninsured Tennesseans and help them learn about the quality, affordable health care that’s available to them.”

The open enrollment period runs from Nov. 15 through Feb. 15, 2015, for those initiating new insurance plans. Four in five Tennesseans who signed up for marketplace coverage last time received financial help.

Individuals who already have coverage through the federal marketplace have until the February deadline to make changes to their existing plans or inform their insurance carriers they would like to renew. Both consumers signing up for the first time and those renewing are encouraged to check out their options, as new plans and financial help may be available. Free, local, in-person assistance is available to help consumers understand their options and sign up or renew.

Consumers can find out more information about the marketplace – including how much financial help they may qualify for and how they can schedule an appointment for free, in-person assistance – by calling 844-644-5443 or visiting GetCoveredTenn.org

Enroll America is the nation's leading health care enrollment coalition, bringing together community and health organizations, businesses and others to inform consumers about the new health coverage options and how to enroll in them. It is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization focused on one goal: maximizing the number of Americans who enroll in and retain health coverage.

Get Covered America is a national campaign of Enroll America that is focused on educating consumers about the benefits of health coverage and the new health insurance available under the Affordable Care Act. With operations in 11 states (AZ, FL, GA, IL, MI, NC, NJ, OH, PA, TN, and TX), our grassroots team is powered by passionate staff and volunteers with one motivating goal: to give Americans the information they need to choose an affordable health insurance plan that’s right for them and their families.

The Tennessee Hospital Association was founded in 1938 to serve as an advocate for hospitals, health systems and other healthcare organizations across the state. The initiatives of THA support the work of Tennessee’s hospitals to ensure efficient, high quality care for the patients and communities they serve.
