NASHVILLE –TriStar Centennial Medical Center is pleased to announce Tom Ozburn, DSc., FACHE, CMPE, as chief executive officer of the 741-bed multi-campus system of care, effective February 27, 2023. Ozburn will oversee operations of the downtown Nashville tertiary care hospital that offers some of the region’s highest levels of care in cardiology, oncology, surgical robotics, women’s health, pediatrics and behavioral health. The hospital also includes two satellite locations at TriStar Ashland City Medical Center and TriStar Spring Hill ER.

Ozburn brings 25 years of executive healthcare leadership to this new role. Since 2017, he has served as president and chief executive officer of Parkridge Health System, part of the HCA Healthcare TriStar Division. While at Parkridge, Ozburn was instrumental in growing and expanding access to services for the region, including the expansion of advanced cardiology services and the approval of two freestanding emergency rooms in East Ridge and Soddy Daisy. Under his leadership, Parkridge also maintained a strong reputation for quality care receiving recognitions as a 2022 Fortune/Merative Top 100 Hospital and a Healthgrades Top 250 Hospital in America. Ozburn also previously served as chief executive officer at TriStar Southern Hills, among other executive positions within the TriStar Division.

In addition to his expertise in hospital operations, Ozburn is also deeply committed to providing healthier tomorrows for the communities he serves. While in Chattanooga, Ozburn helped found and grow the Orchard Knob Collaborative that aims to improve physical infrastructure and address social determinants of health for the Orchard Knob community. Multiple community organizations joined together for the initiative that has provided resources to renovate older homes, plant new trees in the community and expand internet access to residents. Ozburn was named Champion of Healthcare by The Chattanooga Times Free Press in 2022 and also received the THA Diversity Champion Award in 2018.
Ozburn recently completed a Doctor of Science in Health Services Administration from the University of Alabama, Birmingham. He received a Master of Health Administration degree from the University Of Memphis College Of Health Sciences, a Masters of Business Administration from University of Memphis Fogelman College of Business, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Management from The University of Alabama. He is board certified in healthcare management by the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American College of Medical Practice Executives.
