McCandless promoted to Director of Clinical Strategy

Nashville – Hope Clinic for Women has announced the appointment of Alexander (Alex) McCandless to director of clinical strategy at the healthcare center, according to Kailey Cornett, chief executive officer.

McCandless came to Hope Clinic for Women in 2015, where he first worked as an M.A. counseling intern before serving as a professional counselor and prevention educator, coordinator, and program manager. His most recent roles have been as client programs senior manager and client programs director.

In this new role, McCandless will help to shape the scope and delivery of the clinic’s healthcare services to all its clients. He will oversee clinical care and guide multi-year initiatives, including a transition to digital intake to improve patient experience.

“Hope Clinic for Women is honored to name Alex to this new position,” said Cornett, citing his history with the clinic. “Over the last several years, he has had a tremendous impact on those we help, guiding them through tough times and providing them with strong counseling services. As Director of Clinical Strategy, he will continue to propel our mission forward.”

Prior to joining the staff at Hope Clinic for Women, McCandless served as a counselor at the Refuge Center for Counseling in Franklin as part of his Post-Master’s Fellowship. His experience includes work in program management, mental health counseling, strategic planning and budgeting, process improvement, policy development, and staff and volunteer training.

“I am grateful to take on this new role at Hope Clinic,” McCandless stated. “Over the past eight years I have seen the impact of the clinic on the health of so many women and families in this community, and I look forward to working with our medical director and staff to enhance and refine our programs to better the lives of so many in this area.”

McCandless graduated from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 2013 with a B.A. in Psychology and a Minor in Business Administration before attending Liberty University, where he earned his M.A. in Professional Counseling.
