A number of local healthcare companies and providers have recently been recognized for their safety, quality and level of service from a variety of industry and peer-reviewed sources. Vanderbilt University Medical Center topped U.S. News & World Report's annual ranking of best hospitals, coming in first in the state. Saint Thomas West came in fourth in Tennessee. VUMC and TriStar Centennial Medical Center were named to the 2016 Becker's Hospital Review's 100 Hospitals & Health Systems with Great Oncology Programs. Bradley Arant Boult Cummings has been named one of the 2016 Working Mother and Flex-Time Lawyers "50 Best Law Firms for Women." Bluebird Homecare was recognized as 2016 Best Home Care Provider of Choice from Home Care Pulse.
Mark P. Freeman, MD
Mark P. Freeman, MD with Radiology Alliance was recently inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Radiology (ACR). Freeman is medical director of Diagnostic Imaging at TriStar Summit Medical Center.

LeadingAge Tennessee has selected Nashville resident Nellie Cole, board chair for Asbury Inc., as the recipient of its 2016 Excellence in Governance award for her leadership of the organization.
Just in time for the fall semester, Saint Thomas Health Foundation awarded 22 Saint Thomas Health associates with scholarships to further their education. More than $50,000 was awarded to associates from six Saint Thomas Health campuses.
Last month, UnitedHealthcare announced it has recognized 50 care providers in Tennessee with its 2015 UnitedHealthcare PATH Excellence in Patient Service Awards, distributing more than $4.2 million in bonus payments in recognition of quality care for United's nearly 36,000 Medicare Advantage members in Tennessee.

Damian Mingle, the chief data scientist for WPC Healthcare, was named a finalist for the 2016 Sepsis Heroes Awards, sponsored by the Sepsis Alliance. Mingle has developed a predictive analytics solution to help hospitals identify sepsis risk before clinical indicators suggest a patient is sick.
