Knoxville-based Summit Strategic Solutions named Jack Thompson as CEO, effective Sept. 12. Summit was launched in 2015 by its parent company Healthcaring Ventures to develop innovative consumer-focused healthcare delivery systems. As a management and transformation services organization (MSO/TSO), Summit offers services and solutions to help physician practices, health insurance plans and self-insured employers gain a strategic, competitive and financial edge in the ever-changing healthcare industry.

Thompson succeeded Tim Young, who served as CEO from the company's inception until his recent departure. Thompson has worked extensively in the areas of change management integration, including future healthcare reimbursement trends, as well as population management, value-based care and quality initiatives. Immediately prior to his new role, Thompson served as president and CEO of Health Matrix, LLC, in Houston, Texas. Prior to joining Health Matrix in 2014, he was president & CEO of the Houston-based start-up and high-growth healthcare company FemPartners. A certified public accountant, Thompson earned both his MBA and bachelor's degree in accounting from East Carolina University.
