The Tennessee Association of Mental Health Organizations (TAMHO) is preparing for their annual conference, which is scheduled for December 13-14 at the Franklin Cool Springs Marriott Hotel in Williamson County.

"Transition to Value-Based Care: Vision for the Future" will include two days of professional development, industry insights, and keynote addresses, as well as information from a number of exhibitors. This year's theme centers on Gov. Bill Haslam's call to change the way healthcare is reimbursed in Tennessee with a focus on moving from volume to value.

In 2013, the governor launched Tennessee's Health Care Innovation Initiative to reward providers for the high quality, efficient treatment of medical conditions and to encourage health improvement and maintenance. Keynote speaker Wendy Long, MD, director of TennCare, will discuss innovations in the system. In addition, keynote sessions will feature Linda Rosenberg, CEO of National Council for Behavioral Health, who is slated to discuss national value-based initiatives underway, and Ken Minkoff, MD, who will talk about value-based care for individuals with co-occurring disorders.
