Community Health Systems is on a selling spree. In the last few weeks, the beleaguered hospital company has announced the sell of a number of facilities including four rural hospitals in in Mississippi and Florida to Curae Health.
Brentwood-based Diversicare Healthcare Services, Inc., a provider of long-term care services, recently entered into an agreement with Golden Living to assume the operations of 22 facilities - 10 in Mississippi effective Oct. 1 and 12 in Alabama effective Nov. 1. The effect of these combined transactions is expected to contribute in excess of $185 million in annual revenues. With the completion of these acquisitions, the number of nursing centers operated by the company is 76 with 8,453 licensed nursing beds.
Sheridan, the Physician Services division of AMSURG Corp., has further expanded its anesthesiology services business and its footprint in Northern California through the acquisition of Fidere Anesthesia Consultants, Inc. The group is comprised of 38 physicians covering seven facilities. It delivers both inpatient and outpatient anesthesia services for the El Camino Hospital System, as well as a number of ambulatory surgery centers based in Silicon Valley.
