Beatty joined the TMA in 2001 as general counsel, was named director of Legal & Government Affairs in 2004 and took on his current role at the end of 2012. Prior to joining TMA, he served simultaneously as director of Health Related Boards and executive director of the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners for the State of Tennessee. A graduate of Vanderbilt and Emory University School of Law, Beatty is a frequent speaker and panelist on health law and patient safety initiatives.
