Beauchamp, the John Clinton Foshee Distinguished Professor of Surgery, has been chair of the Section of Surgical Sciences and surgeon-in-chief for Vanderbilt since July 2001 and on faculty since December 1994. His clinical practice focuses on surgical oncology, and he serves as deputy director for Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. In addition, he is co-leader of the Gastrointestinal Cancer Research Program. Widely published, he currently has two active NIH grants, serves on several editorial boards, and is involved in several national organizations, including the National Academy of Medicine. Beauchamp is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
