The Tennessee General Assembly has designated July as Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Tennessee. To highlight the importance of the issue, patients, caregivers and advocates in Middle Tennessee will join together for a kickoff event on Tuesday, June 27 at 11:30 a.m. in Nashville called Thriving Together: Living Beyond Metastatic Breast Cancer.

The keynote speaker for the event is Beth Fairchild, president of METAvivor Research and Support, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the awareness of advanced breast cancer and equity in research and patient support. Beth is living with metastatic breast cancer and is also a mother and tattoo professional. Following her remarks, Beth will moderate a panel with health care professionals to discuss key issues around metastatic breast cancer.
