HealthStream CEO Robert A. Frist, Jr., recently gifted employees $2 million worth of his personally owned shares in the company, making approximately 820 HealthStream workers partial owners in the company. The gift was made to active employees, with the exception of corporate executive officers, and totaled more than 78,500 shares in the company. "Since our initial launch as a two-person company in 1990, HealthStream has grown into a leading provider of workforce development solutions for healthcare organizations - and our employees have made this happen," Frist said of his decision.

HCA Healthcare recently completed the purchase of 24MedSpring urgent care centers from Fresenius Medical Care. The Texas-based centers are located in Austin, Dallas and Houston and will be renamed CareNow Urgent Care, which is HCA's urgent care network brand.

Nashville-based Covenant Surgical Partners has announced a partnership with Los Angeles-based De La Peña Eye Clinic, one of the largest private eye care practices in Southern California. The partnership brings Covenant's national vision portfolio to seven surgery centers and four practices across eight locations.

e+CancerCare, which was founded in Nashville in 2002 and has 21 outpatient care centers in 10 states, has been sold to Integrated Oncology Network, LLC of Newport Beach, Calif. ION is a portfolio company of Silver Oak Services Partners, LLC. The combined company will have 51 locations across 17 states.

Hendersonville-based Xtend Healthcare has announced plans to invest $1.3 million to expand its headquarters, adding 200 new jobs in Sumner County. A subsidiary of Navient,

the revenue cycle services company, which was founded in 2009, employs more than 700 professionals in Tennessee.

Margaret Dolan, president and CEO of Launch Tennessee, has been named to the Cumberland Emerging Technologies (CET) Board of Directors. Publicly traded behavioral health giant Acadia Healthcare continues to see C-suite changes. The latest is COO Ron Fincher who was scheduled to depart the company on July 15. His departure follows former CEO Joey Jacobs, who was ousted by the board last December, and the President Brent Turner, who left in late March.

In late June, Community Health Systems announced a definitive agreement to sell 92-bed Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield, West Virginia, and its associated ancillary healthcare operations to subsidiaries of Princeton Community Hospital. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2019, subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.

Nashville-based performance improvement company HealthTrust has been selected by Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) as its exclusive national supply chain organization, effective Oct. 1. Based in Boston, BILH is an integrated care delivery network of 13 hospitals in Eastern Massachusetts, including four academic medical centers and teaching hospitals, eight community and specialty hospitals, and other sites of care.
