The American Psychiatric Association (APA) honored Nashville psychiatrist J. Greg Kyser, MD, in late March with the Warren Williams Assembly Award, which recognizes outstanding recent or current contributions in the field of psychiatry and is administered by APA Area Councils. Kyser is in private practice in Nashville and serves as an associate clinical professor at Vanderbilt University’s Psychiatric Hospital. 

Nashville laser eye surgeon Ming Wang, MD, PhD has penned an autobiography, “From Darkness to Sight” with Heather Ebert. The book includes his escape from China’s Cultural Revolution to become an American success story and explores his Christian faith in concert with his scientific education and background.

For the 11th straight year, graduates of Belmont University’s Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) program for Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP) have achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the first attempt of the national certification exam.

Integrated healthcare marketing communications firm ReviveHealth is now the 39th largest independent PR agency and 6th largest healthcare agency in the nation, and the largest agency headquartered in Nashville, according to this year’s ranking of 120 firms by industry publication O’Dwyer’s. Double-digit revenue growth topping 63 percent catapulted ReviveHealth to the No. 1 spot among Nashville agencies. Brentwood-based Jarrard Phillips Cate & Hancock also ranked in the top 15 (#13) healthcare agencies in the nation.

Tennessee recently ranked #7 in the best column in WalletHub’s report on Best & Worst States for Doctors 2015. Based on 12 key metrics, South Carolina took the top spot and Rhode Island came in as the worst state for physicians.
