March 24 - The American Medical Association is helping mobilize a dramatic increase in the nation's telemedicine capacity through its advocacy on Medicare policy changes and publication of the AMA Telemedicine Quick Reference Guide, a new resource to help physicians implement remote care.

As an added component to our ongoing telemedicine efforts, the AMA launched a virtual panel discussion today focused on telemedicine and COVID-19. The discussion is hosted by the AMA's Physician Innovation Network (PIN), an online networking community of physicians, digital health companies and entrepreneurs.

Over the course of the next two weeks, this online discussion forum will allow the medical and technology sectors to share best practices and policy updates to support physicians in expediting telemedicine implementation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Physicians can post questions and connect with experts about proven strategies for developing telemedicine services.

PIN is critical to AMA's goal of integrating the clinical voice into solution development. The AMA will be participating and monitoring the discussion to inform updates to the AMA Telemedicine Quick Reference Guide and related resources.
