During Mayor Cooper's daily update, it is now reported there are 673 cases of COVID-19 in Davidson County (132 confirmed in the last 24 hours) with 4 deaths, 90 recovered, and 579 active cases. Active cases range from 2 months of age to 84 years of age. The fourth confirmed death in Davidson County was an 83-year-old male. The MPHD COVDI-19 Hotline received 433 calls on March 31. That number is 615.862.7777. The daily report also cited 18 patients being hospitalized. However, reporting from the city's three largest systems indicates that number is significantly lower than actual patient census of confirmed and suspected cases, which is estimated to be closer to 200.

The Tennessee Department of Health confirmed 2,683 cases of COVID-19 across all by 11 counties. The Wednesday number was a jump of 444 from the previous day and was the largest, single day increase since the state began tracking numbers. Officials also confirmed 24 deaths and 200 hospitalized patients across Tennessee. The latest TDH figures put confirmed cases in Davidson County at 423, nearly 250 lower than MPHD reports.

County numbers typically differ from state numbers for two key reasons: 1) lab confirmations come to Metro Public Health first and are then reported to state so there is a time lag, and 2) the state counts cases by where the resident lives rather than where the case was confirmed (so visitors to Nashville and those who live in another county in the MSA but are tested in Nashville would not be in the Davidson County numbers released by the state).
