Sumner Regional Medical Center's Emergency Department is open 24 hours, 7 days each week to evaluate and treat community members that have emergency medical needs. To better serve our community during the Covid-19 pandemic, some daytime in-car evaluations are being conducted on possible Covid-19 patients to minimize the risk of infection to other ER patients, as well as our staff and physicians.

Every patient is evaluated as an ER patient, and a test for Covid-19 is ordered at the discretion of the treating physician, based on their evaluation.

There are many non-emergency Covid-19 testing sites throughout Middle Tennessee. To ensure the fastest results for the most urgent patients, those who have no symptoms of Covid-19 but would like to be tested (due to a potential exposure or request for testing by employer) may be referred to these non-emergency locations for Covid-19 testing. If you believe you have been exposed to Covid-19 but have no symptoms, you should quarantine yourself for 14 days. If symptoms appear (fever, cough, shortness of breath), seek medical evaluation at a physician's office or emergency department.
