At the end of October, Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital Midtown hosted a "topping out" celebration for the new Surgery and Critical Care Tower and the ongoing construction progress of the Rehabilitation Hospital in partnership with Kindred Healthcare. Midtown physicians and associates were invited to sign the final steel beam that will sit atop the Surgery and Critical Care Tower.

These projects are part of "Midtown Modernization," an overall campus transformation encompassing more than $300 million in investments. In creating the hospital of the future, priorities have included ease of access, enhanced wayfinding, boutique retail experiences, dedicated underground parking for each new building and technology-enabled communication zones.
