Providers, Parents and Guardians Are Encouraged to Learn More About Whether a Clinical Trial is a Fit for Their Family and Enrollment Options

Clinical Research Associates is coordinating pediatric clinical trials in Nashville for vaccines that protect children under 12 years old against COVID-19. These clinical trials will give parents and healthcare providers additional options to help prevent COVID-19 in children. Nashville healthcare providers and parents can learn more or choose to enroll their children in the study by signing up for a no-obligation phone call at https://clinicalresearchassociates.com/pediatric-covid-clinical-studies/ or by calling (615) 329-2222.

“Additional vaccine options support the health of your own family and the millions worldwide who still need a COVID-19 preventative measure,” said Clinical Research Associates medical director Dr. Stephan Sharp. “We will be looking for healthy kids and families who may want to join a clinical trial, and I hope that you will consider volunteering with your child.”

About the Studies:

Omicron Variant: CRA has a series of studies using the bivalent mRNA vaccine (BNT162b2 original version + Omicron BA.4/BA.5) enrolling both vaccine-naïve children as well as those who have previously received 2 or 3 doses of the original Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. This study evaluates different dosing intervals to determine optimal immunologic response and generates data for approval of the bivalent version in this population. These studies have no placebo groups, so every child will receive a vaccine. The vaccine-naïve will receive up to 4 doses; those previously vaccinated will receive 1 or 2 doses. These studies will last about 16 months.

Protein-Based: This clinical trial will evaluate a protein-based (also known as traditional) vaccine that does not use mRNA technology. The study vaccine, NVX-CoV2373, has been authorized in various countries for adolescents and adults 12 years of age and older. Now, researchers are evaluating it for children ages 6 months to 11 years in the United States. This study will last for approximately 26 months, and each child will have at least 8 study site visits and at least 3 scheduled phone calls during this period.
