Jennifer Pietenpol, PhD, will be honored at the T.J. Martell Foundation 8th Annual Nashville Honors Gala on Feb. 29. She is one of six honorees and has been selected for the Medical Research Advancement Award. Pietenpol is director of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.  

Leadership Health Care recently announced the organization’s 2015 awards. Baxter Lee, CFO at Entrada, received the Health Care Emerging Leader of the Year award. Wes Pass, vice president of Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s national for-profit healthcare group, was named Ambassador of the Year, and Bradley Arant Boult Cummings was named Supporting Organization of the Year.

Acadia President Brent Turner has been named to the board of Surgery Partners. He is the fifth director named for the company, which went public last year.

Gina Pruitt, the member in charge of the risk assurance and advisory services practice of Nashville-based KraftCPAs PLLC, was recently selected to serve on the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) National Service Organization Control (SOC) Task Force. The group is responsible for determining updates and changes to the SOC standards, audit guides, and the peer review questionnaire.

Trudie Goers, MD, FACS of The Surgical Clinic PLLC in Nashville became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons during 2015 annual Clinical Congress in Chicago. Goers, who received her medical doctorate from the Medical College of Wisconsin, has a strong professional interest in esophageal surgery.

Three employees at TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center earned a Certificate in Healthcare Leadership from Union University – Center for Excellence in Health Care Practice. Ashley Fleming, RN, surgical services manager, Heather Bratcher, RN, emergency services director, and Paul Hartley, patient access director, recently completed the 2015 TriStar Health Leadership Academy to earn the distinction.
