Now in its 11th year, the Council Fellows program connects the healthcare industry’s brightest minds, most influential leaders and top drivers of change.
Each year, the highly competitive program exposes a cohort of roughly 30 executive leaders to a curriculum specifically designed to build new perspectives and to generate new ideas for addressing the industry’s most pressing challenges.
The five-month intensive program is led by a faculty of industry experts who will address topics such as data and AI, cost of care, and social determinants of health.
Applications for Council Fellows open in the fall and a new class is announced in January for that year’s cohort. This year, the Council received a record number of applications for its flagship program.
“We are incredibly proud that the Council Fellows program continues to attract top level leaders from companies within and outside of our ecosystem” said Apryl Childs-Potter, president of the Nashville Health Care Council.
“This class represents a snapshot of the healthcare industry. We can’t wait to see the collaboration, innovations and connections that are born out of this dynamic group.”
As the organization works to continue to reflect Nashville’s evolving healthcare ecosystem, the Council has prioritized efforts to expand the program’s geographic reach and to diversify the applicant pool. The candidate pool represented the highest number of out-of-state applicants, the most diverse representation of industry subsectors and the highest percentage of diverse candidates in terms of race, gender, and ethnicity.
“We are excited about the Fellows class of 2024. A great cross section of healthcare that will experience a one-of-a-kind opportunity together,” said Michael Burcham, Council Fellows Chair.
For the first time, Nashville Health Care Council Fellows will be participating in the Council’s Delegation to our nation’s capital, Washington D.C.
“We are thrilled to bring this established group of powerful minds together, and to continue to create the space for the most inspiring conversations in health care,” said Lydie Marc, Council Fellows Senior Director.
“We need these leaders’ engagement now more than ever to continue the Council’s mission to strengthen and elevate Nashville as the Healthcare City.”
The Council Fellows program is presented in partnership with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, Community Health Systems, HCA Healthcare, Lifepoint Health, Optum and Shore Capital Partners, LLC.
