The Tennessee Medical Association is providing guidance to doctors and other healthcare professionals on dealing with rapidly changing state and federal healthcare reimbursement models.

In July and August, TMA will bring training on healthcare payment reform to cities across the state with its CME Summer Roadshow Dollars and Sense: Understanding State and Federal Healthcare Payment Reform.

TMA, the state’s largest professional organization for physicians, has been dedicated to protecting physician and patient interests and helping doctors understand new value-based reimbursement models since the inception of the Tennessee Health Care Innovation Initiative in 2012.

Since that time, the organization has added a Healthcare Innovations Consultant to its staff, fought for improvements to the state’s payment reform initiative and encouraged doctor participation in designing episodes of care.

The association will now bring comprehensive training on healthcare payment reform to Johnson City on July 26, Knoxville on July 27, Chattanooga on July 28, Memphis on Aug. 16 and Nashville on Aug. 18. Admission is $175 for TMA members and their staff and $275 for nonmembers.

Topics covered by the roadshow include TennCare Episodes of Care, the Medicare Access & CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015, the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System, Patient-Centered Medical Homes and much more.

More information about the roadshow is available at tnmed.org/summerroadshow. Those interested can also register online directly.
