Last month, LifePoint Health announced the appointment of Michael S. Coggin as chief financial officer. Coggin, who has served as chief accounting officer since 2008, stepped into his new role on Sept. 30. He succeeded Leif Murphy, who left the company to pursue another opportunity.
Prior to LifePoint, he served as CFO of Specialty Care Services Group and as a senior vice president in the Finance, Accounting and Internal Audit groups of Renal Care Group. He began his professional career as an auditor with KPMG Peat Marwick. Coggin holds both an undergraduate degree and a master's from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville. He serves on the advisory board for Belmont University's Edward C. Kennedy Center for Business Ethics and recently completed the Nashville Health Care Council Fellows class of 2016.
